The vacuum extraction project has not only resulted in more vacuum extractions and better maternal and perinatal outcome in Mulago Hospital, but also in a PhD thesis: "Reintroduction of vacuum extraction in a tertiary referral hospital in Uganda".

Barbara Nolens will defend the thesis on 4th of November 2019 at VU University Amsterdam.

Thanks to Mulago Mama, important Ugandan members of the vacuum extraction interest group will be present.

January 15th, 2020

The results of the vacuum extraction project will be presented in Uganda on 15th of January 2020 at a symposium partly organised by Mulago Mama. Program following soon!

On the same day gynaecologists from several Ugandan hospitals will present their proposals for implementing vacuum extraction in their hospital. We are planning to support several hospitals with equipment and training programs.
